Our Community
Our Community
We work in Oakland Chinatown and Downtown, building relationships with all community members, from houseless individuals, merchants, residents, and visitors. Together, we create a vibrant community where all feel safe, secure, and included.

Stop The Hate
As part of the statewide California Stop The Hate campaign, we are working on bias awareness education with the community. We do this via community engagement opportunities, community event participation, educational participation, and social media posts.
The Community Response Initiative to Strengthen Emergency Systems (C.R.I.S.E.S) California statewide pilot program is a grant supporting our Community Mediator team. Community Mediators walk the streets of Oakland Chinatown and Downtown and can be identified by their emerald green vests.

Empathy Walks
Partnering with local schools we take students through a tour of Chinatown providing insights about their work building community with all members. During this tour students also have an opportunity to learn about Community Mediators and how they work towards violence prevention by providing resources to all community members.
Partnering with local community organizations, we create space where participants can learn together to help support violence prevention in their community.
